The Colorblind Corrector extension

The OpticQuiz Colorblind Corrector browser extension:

• Collects no personal data. No analytics, no tracking, no identifiers, no account.
• Makes no network requests. The color correction is computed entirely on your device with an in-browser SVG filter. Nothing about the pages you visit, or the colors on them, is ever sent anywhere.
• Stores one thing, locally: your chosen correction mode, in your browser's own storage, so it persists between pages. It never leaves your device and you can clear it any time by removing the extension.
• Requests access to the pages you view for one reason only — to apply the color-correction filter to the page you are looking at. It does not read, store, or transmit page content.

Your vision-test answers and results are computed in your browser and never uploaded to us. The website itself uses standard third-party services on some pages, disclosed here for honesty:

• Google Analytics for aggregate traffic statistics, and Google AdSense for ads on informational pages (the home page, About, and guide articles) — never on the tests or the accessibility tools. These use cookies you can control in your browser or via Google's ad settings.

We do not sell your data, ever, and we do not build profiles of individuals.

The “did this help you?” block and the Impact Archive

Some pages carry a block asking whether the tool helped. It is the only thing on OpticQuiz that sends anything about you to us, and it sends nothing at all unless you press a button.

• Nothing on page load. No beacon, no page-view record, no identifier. If you never click, nothing is recorded.
• What is stored: exactly the fields you filled in, which tool you were using, and the date at day precision only. No IP address is stored against your submission, and no cookie is set. Your browser keeps one local flag so you aren't asked twice; it never leaves your device.
• Your words are published only if you tick the consent box and a human then approves the record. Without the tick, your answer is counted and never quoted.
• An email is stored only if you type one, is never published, and is never added to any mailing list.
• You can take it back. Every submission returns a withdraw code that deletes the record permanently — no account, no email, no reason required. Use it at opticquiz.com/impact.
• One disclosed exception. To stop a script flooding the review queue, the server counts submissions per hour against a salted SHA-256 hash of the connection's IP. That hash cannot be reversed to an address, is never stored next to a submission, and is deleted when the hour ends. It is written here because a privacy claim with an undisclosed exception is a lie. The code is public.
